Whether you are 13, 30 or even 93 you will love the amazing designs that Henna Blessings will create for you. Henna has been used throughout parts of the Indian sub-continent, the Middle East and North Africa for thousands of years. It is thought to have originated in Mesopotamia, although most people in the US think of India in correlation to henna.

Women have been adorning their bodies with henna for ceremonial use, adornment, weddings, sangeets, baby showers and festivals for generations.

Henna comes from the plant Lawsonia Inermis which is grown in arid climates. The leaf can be used fresh or dried and mixed into a paste. The recipe variations are endless. The stain left from the applied henna will last for 1-3 weeks. It is safe on all ages and skin types, although if you have any chronic skin conditions or topical allergies, please let the artist know prior to application. It is best to clean and exfoliate your skin before your appointment, as this lends to the darkest, long lasting stain.

Molly and our artists blend custom paste using the freshest 100% organic Rajhastani henna mixed with distilled water, sugar and essential oils for a beautiful dark stain.

1. Henna paste is applied to clean skin.
2. Be careful for 10-15 mins. while the paste dries.
3. Leave paste on for at least two hours, the longer the better, and henna likes heat.
4. Scrape paste off & stay away from water.
5. Avoid water for 6-12 hrs after removing paste.
6. Protect design with natural lip balm or any edible oils before going in water.
7. Before swimming in a pool or sulfur springs apply Vaseline or a thick balm.

Notes: Henna appears orange when paste is first removed and deepens color over 48 hrs. Hands and feet often stain the best, while other areas may be fainter. Melanin tends to create an even darker stain. Just say NO to black “henna”. It is a harmful chemical. Real henna always yields a beautiful reddish brown color.
